September 19, 2007

The growing number of real estate projects in and around Muharraq is driving demand for mortgage finance. With the opening of its third and latest customer service centre in the heart of Muharraq’s community, Islamic mortgage provider, Sakana Holistic Housing Solutions, is bringing mortgage advice and finance within reach of an increasing number of the island’s 100,000 plus residents.

Bahrainis and expatriates residing in Muharraq and beyond can visit the new outlet located within the BBK Financial Mall Muharraq Souq, next to Al Halla club, where dedicated and well-trained customer advisors can advise on Sakana’s range of innovative products.

Mr. Jamal M. Hijres, Sakana’s Chairman, said: “Sakana’s ongoing expansion comes on the back of healthy sales since start-up in Dec 2006 with over BD 20 million worth of mortgages underwritten as of the end of August. We are seeing a significant increase in walk-in enquiries and received over 5,000 phone enquires over the last three months.”

“Sakana is committed to being a customer-centric and market-driven mortgage provider and we believe that our presence in Muharraq is an ideal fit with the accelerating infrastructure and real estate developments which are taking place in this area.”

Mr R. Lakshmanan, Sakana’s CEO, said: “Our ultimate objective is to be as close as possible to our customers and to provide ethical Sharia’a-compliant mortgage solutions to meet the housing needs of people in a wide range of income brackets. This third customer service centre will play a key role in achieving this.”
